On July 22, The Advocates' director of advocacy Michele Garnett McKenzie participated in a discussion of the issues related to children of immigrants. The discussion took place at the Insight Now section of MPR NewsQ and offered a lively and informative discussion of the subject.

The July 17 article from the Asian American Press features the recent press release from The Advocates in response to President Obama's speech on immigration reform. 

The July 1 article from Twin Cities Daily Planet includes portions of the press release from The Advocates, as well as comments from Robin Phillips in response to President Obama's speech on immigration reform. 

On June 18, the Star Tribune published a commentary co-written by Director of Women's Human Rights Program Cheryl Thomas entitled “Cut the Human-Trafficking Demand by Enforcing the Laws”. 

The Advocates' new book club is featured in a MinnPost article. The article discusses how a book club can be a tool for advocacy and education and highlights immigration issues in Minnesota.

Perspectives, the quarterly magazine of the University of Minnesota Law School, featured The Advocates in its Spring 2010 edition. The article highlights University of Minnesota Law School alumni who are involved with The Advocates.

The Advocates recently collaborated with MinnPost and Robins, Kaplan, Miller and Ciresi, LLP to give two seats to the May 20 Human Rights Awards Dinner to five lucky Book Clubs registered with MinnPost's Book Club Club.

A May 6 article in the Star Tribune, "State lawmaker pushes Ariz.-style immigration bill," quotes The Advocates' Executive Director Robin Phillips about a new law introduced in the Minnesota State Legislature that mimics Arizona's controversial law requiring law enforcement officers to determine the immigration status of people the officers stop or arrest.

On May 5, the TC Daily Planet  featured a story about The Advocates declining a $25,000 grant from Craigslist over the company's facilitation of human trafficking and child exploitation.
