4/14/2008 2:55 PMThe Advocates for Human Rights (formerly Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights) is an internationally recognized non-governmental 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the promotion and protection of human rights. The organization is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year.
The Human Rights Awards Dinner will commemorate our 25th Anniversary. The event will celebrate the organization’s achievements over the past quarter century and look ahead to its future. Our speaker and Guest of Honor will be Ishmael Beah, a former child soldier from Sierra Leone and an author of the international bestseller, A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier. As part of that celebration, we invite you or your institution and students to join us in recognizing the importance of honoring human rights in our society by participating in a video contest that highlights human rights.
